Functions that can be done such as switching, control and termination of telephone; translational communication protocol; translation or transcoding of media communications, and control devices such as VoIP IP Telephony Gateway, Access Gateway, and Trunk Gateway.

Can be said that the IP PBX is a PBX that can easily meet the market but we have features that support Internet-based communication or computer network.

PBX IP-based solution is the concept of future-generation communication networks, or known by the term NGN (Next Generation Network), which can integrate the conventional telephone network (PSTN / POTS), mobile phone networks (GSM / CDMA), satellite phone network, the network Cordless (DECT ), and packet-based network (IP / ATM).

IP PBX brings capabilities in multi-service network into the world of IP telephony communications, so it will allow more and more communication services that can run on top of IP networks. Multi Service is Voicemail & Voice Conference, Interactive Voice Response (IVR), Automatic Call Distribution (ACD), Computer Telephony Integration (CTI), Unified Messaging System (UMS), Fax Server & Fax on Demand, Call Recording System, Billing System , as well as Web-based Management System.

IP PBX trunk interfaces can support Analog FXO / FXS; Digital E1 MFC-R2, ISDN BRI, ISDN PRI, IP (H.323/SIP/IAX); and Analog E & M Tie Line In addition, the IP PBX can support the extension interface Analog FXO / FXS; extension Digital; Interface ISDN BRI (2B + D); and TCP IP (H.323/SIP/IAX).

IP PBX is a real hardware. But with the latest technological developments IP PBX can also be constructed by installing an IP PBX application on the appropriate hardware.

One example application is Briker IP PBX. Briker an application based on Open Source Software (FOSS), which was built to accommodate the IP PBX technology. Brikerakan change an ordinary PC into an IP PBX machine. Briker can be downloaded complete with a manual how to install and its various updates and addon.

Ease to download the application, based on Open Source Software (FOSS), and can be built fairly easily coupled with the availability of its devices that have been supporting many local marketing makes Briker as an application for an IP PBX which is relatively cheap and easy.

Briker has been widely used as an IP PBX solution. Not only used as a research tool or a technical test, Briker also been widely implemented in production levels in many companies, SOEs and the government both small scale, medium and large. Briker has been implemented as an IP PBX to the PSTN trunk to accommodate 92 analog and IP extensions 786. Extension-extension where it spread over a wide area.

Call Center Application on any Briker already done. In this case Briker as the IP PBX with the intensity of solid communication. Call Center is using more than 60 agents or users, and on the use of ACD Statistics Briker sebagaireal time report.

In addition to the two (2) application of the above Briker used in remote areas, meaning Briker functioned as an IP PBX to accommodate four remote locations using VSAT as the connecting tissue. These locations is three estates and a central office to hundreds of kilometers apart. With an IP media, it is possible Briker applied to such conditions.

Briker carrying capability in multi-service network into the world of IP telephony communications, so it will allow more and more communication services that can run on top of IP networks. Multi-service is the Call Center, VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), ISDN (Integrated Service Digital Network), Billing System, DID (Direct inward Dialing), ACD (Automatic Call Distribution), Group Hunting, Conference Call, Call Data Record (CDR), a Web-based Management System, Fax over IP, Call Recording System, Voicemail, Interactive Voice Response (IVR), Least Cost Routing (LCR) and so forth.

One of the main features which are considered most attractive Briker is LCR (Least Cost Routing). LCR allows Briker to find the path with the cheapest cost. For example, a call to a GSM operator than with the conventional way through only one point only for all calls with Briker can be channeled through the same operator so that the possible cost of calls with On-Net. In addition to utilizing On-Net, Briker can take advantage of IP-based line that is with VoIP. Combining both, On-Net and VoIP, LCR on Briker can provide savings up to approximately 60% the cost of the phone.
