PBX technically consists of four major parts, namely part Switching (CO Line Card & Extension Card), CPU, Call Recording (Call Control Software & Memory) and Power Supply Unit.
Switching part is the part that handled internal and external relationships. Internal relations are handled by sub-section extension card so that communication between the point can be free.
Extension card based systems can be categorized into three namely extension analog, digital extensions and IP extensions.
External relations at the PBX will be handled by sub-section of CO Line, part of this is connected with the public telecommunications network to any private.
Telecommunications network that can connect to the CO Line is the PSTN / POTS, ISDN, Cellular Network, Internet and Satellite.
B. CPU
CPU part is the part that controls all functions of each section, this part works as it operates in a computer processor. In addition, this section also serves as a gateway for remote programming and control interface for advanced applications.
C. Call Recording
This section is the part that handled the recording of the communication activities performed on PBX, recording can be done for outgoing calls and incoming calls. Recording, the data will be stored in memory and control sub-section of data is done by sub-section even call control software combined with the billing system.
D. Power Supply Unit
This section is the part that provides the power supply so that the PBX can function. Generally this section will be directly connected with electricity and if the supply of electricity outages can also use a backup power supply which can be either UPS, Battery and Generator.
